Simala. It was named Marian Hills because of its Marian Monks, who built houses and a church over time. Because of miracles performed in this area by the Blessed Virgin Mary, the church was famous. The monks asked for intercession from the Blessed Virgin Mary to help the sick children.
The shrine has a painting that depicts an old Lindogon resident named Ireneo Villamor, affectionately known as Inkong Niyong. He predicted sixty years ago that Lindogon's hills would be blessed with balaan blessings in the future. He predicted that the white lady would become the centre of all men and her faithful servants would have to endure persecution and suffering. One miracle associated with the location is the shedding of blood from a statue representing the Virgin Mary.
Numerous devotees travel to Simala Shrine in order to seek healing for their spiritual and physical ailments. They all have stories about miracles that happened in their lives. These are documented in the church, and kept in cabinets near the entrance of the shrine. The large, green statue of Virgin Mary, or Mama Maria sa Lindogon, or Birhen sa Himala, as well as sculptures and statues representing various saints and images of the Virgin Mary, including those from different cultural backgrounds, such the Virgin of Guadalupe, or that of the Virgin in a kimono, can be found within the environment.
